05 policemen, 02 bank guards martyred in Kulgam terror attack wreath laying ceremony held in DPL : POLICE | KNO

Five police personnel and two security guards of JK Bank were martyred in a terrorist attack in Kulgam District today afternoon.  

Today     Hizb ul Mujahideen  terrorists comprising of Umar Majid of Souch and two others  attacked upon the cash delivery vehicle of J&K bank at Pumbai, in the jurisdiction of police station Kulgam in which five police personnel and two security guard of JK bank  attained martyrdom. The police personnel who were martyred in the incident have been  identified as ASI Bashir Ahmad Dar son of Abdul Gani Dar resident of Bonigam, Qazigund, SGct. Farooq Ahmad Bhat son of Abdul Aziz Bhat resident of Nehama, D.H Pora, Sgct Mohammad Qasim son of Abdul Bohu Khan resident of Awoora, Trehgam, Kupwara, Ct. Muzffer Ahmad son of Gul Mohammad Bhat resident of Y.K Pora, Qazigund, Ct. Ishfaq Ahmad Hajam son of Abdul Ahad Hajam resident of Zakoora, Batpora, Srinagar.

Two security guards of JK Bank were also martyred  in this terror attack. They were identified as Javaid Ahmad Bhat resident of Vessu, Batpora Kulgam,and  Muzaffer Ahmad Laway resident of Larnoo, D.H Pora, Kulgam.

To pay homage to these martyrs, a wreath laying ceremony was held in DPL Kulgam. Inspector General of Police Shri. SJM Gillani led civil, police and security force officers and jawans in laying floral wreaths on the mortal remains of these martyrs.
